Previously called the Solar Social, our Green Energy Fair event will be joining “Energy Day 2011″ this year, hosted by Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA).

Fun For The Whole Family

After you end your self-guided tour, be sure to stop by the Green Energy Fair, which will be part of the Energy Day 2011 festivities. Sponsored and organized by Houston Renewable Energy Group (HREG), there will be more than 40 exhibits, providing everyone hands-on interaction and fun. Check out the educational displays, build solar powered toys, walk through the USGBC Green maze and don’t forget to sign up for FREE giveaways. In addition, there will be light refreshments, music and many opportunities to meet, first-hand, leaders in the Houston’s renewable energy community. Interact with installers as you learn about the latest in solar technology, talk with local energy companies about the types of renewable energy available and learn what non-profits around the nation are doing to help the sustainable movement.

The Green Energy Fair starts at 1 pm, and will be located at Tranquility Park, next to the main exhibit area for Energy Day. Enjoy some light refreshments while listening to music and . Plus,

If you opt for a guided tour on the official buses, the meet point is inside the HREG Green Energy section. Solar Home Tour Guides can be picked up at this location for those who are going on a self-guided tour.
